On Saturday, Gabriella had her birthday party with 6 of her closest BFFs. Unfortunately, Papa was away in Wallenpaupack, PA, with Elisa at a softball tournament. Mama, however, did a great job in preparing for the party, including making aprons for all, and pre-cooking, with a lot of help from Gabriella, the cookies and cupcakes that the partiers would decorate. Did I say it was a cake decorating party? All had fun.
On Saturday, Elisa participated in a PA Softball Tournament near Lake Wallenpaupack. She had lots of fun, but their team competed against some very strong teams (they even had the girls’ names on the uniforms 🙂 ) The teams, and the rules, were very aggressive, but the Pennsbury Orange Crush fought a valiant fight! They lost their first game, but won their second. They would have advanced to the finals, but for a ‘clerical error’ with the tournament application. That’s OK, we had fun anyway!
Another great trip to Ricketts Glen! We stayed four nights in the park, and had a great time in our favorite camp ground, despite one wash-out day. The Falls Trail is definitely the best hiking trail (in any PA park), with 21 beautiful waterfalls along the 7+ mile hike.

Elisa has really enjoyed softball this spring … though many practices & games were canceled due to rain. Her season ended this weekend, but she will be participating in a U8 Tournament on the 26th, so she’ll have a few more practices & games to enjoy this season.
What young girl doesn’t want to ride horses? Apparently none, so ours have started riding lessons. Though they have been on horses a few times, in Belgium, this is the real thing! They need to be at the stables 15 minutes early to prep the horse, and stay until they have finished brushing them down, and cleaning up, and I mean everything, after them 🙂
A day late, due to illness, but no less fun, Elisa’s birthday party (with friends) was held on her birthday this year. As usual, a great time was had by all. The theme this year was “T-Shirt Design, Inc., 8th Annual Design Workshop.” All the attendees decorated their own t-shirts, and even made their own designer labels. Despite the potential for a huge mess, all went off without a hitch.
This year’s recital, Gabriella danced to “Black & Gold” and Elisa to “Do You Love Me?”
